12 Meows of Christmas/Create A Critter 2 Wednesday

Hey all!

Today I have for you another critter from the CAC 2 Cricut Cartridge. This is also going to be our first Meow for the 12 Meows of Christams. I had intended to have my 12 Christmas projects separate from already established days, but my Christmas craft making got the better of me. We all know how that happens!

Supplies
Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Patterned Paper: Vintage Christmas - My Minds Eye
Cardstock: Core'dinations
Sentiment: Cardz Tv Stamps - Tiny Tidings; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Die: My Creative Time - Tag Dies; Teeny Tag Layering Dies

Gypsy
All cuts for Santa Bear were at 3.20h. All lines were removed with the Gypsy

I hope you have enjoyed this cute little Santa Bear. I sure had a great time throwing it together!

This will also be entered into "To Die For" Challenge #20 @ Cardz TV.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for another challenge with the Just A Scrappin' DT.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Hope you are having a great holiday with family and friends. Now that your bellies are stuffed with turkey, lean back and check out what the Just A Scrappin' Design Team has been up to. We know your full, but you can never have too much inspiration, right!?!?

This weeks challenge: Let's get those Turkeys gobbling. Make a Thanksgiving card, layout or 3D project. Use any color but lets add some lace.

Size: A2

This week the challenge was to use lace, but I didn't have any. With my truck being in the garage three times this month, I really didn't have the funds to get my hands on any either. I decided this Dotted Scallop punch by EK Success had a "lacey" look to it.

Supplies
Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Patterned Paper: Recollections Autumn Harvest
Sentiment: Thankful for You (CardzTV) Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento Ink)
Other: Action Wobble (AWI); Brads (Stampin' Up); Dotted Scallop Punch (EK Success); Ribbon (Michael's)

Measurements
On all three layers of the card, I used the Dotted Scallop punch.
Base: 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
Layer: 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
2nd Layer: 4 1/8 X 2

Turkey (P 62)
All cut @ 3.25 height
(Turkey) 3.49 w
(Turkey-s) 2.77w
(Layer) 1.88w
(Layer-s) 1.91w

I deleted all but the cut lines with my Gypsy. Nothing drives me more crazy than seeing the pre-cut lines behind my cuts!

I really wish you could see the turkey wobbling on his action wobble, it really hits the phrase home :)

To get stuffed on some more inspiration, check out my fellow design team members projects and post a link to your newly created project at Just A Scrappin'.

Don't forget to stop by on Monday for the start of our 12 Meows of Christmas.

Create A Critter 2 Wednesday

Welcome back! This will be our last time cutting a critter from the fall themed section of the book.

This week I picked out the cute little Native American girl. I am actually 50% Native American myself, so I found it fitting!

Size: A2

Supplies
Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Patterned Paper: Recollections - Autumn Harvest
Sentiment: Cardz TV Stamps - Thankful for You; Memento Cocoa Rich Ink
Other: Action Wobble (AWI)

Measurements
Native Girl (P 64)
All cut @ 3.50h
(NatvBear) 3.77w
(NtvBer-s) 2.48w
(Layer) 1.08w
(Layer-s) 1.63w

I am getting so addicted to these action wobbles! I am going to have to start making more videos so you can see the super cute wobbling :)

Thanks for joining me today. Stop by tomorrow to check out another challenge with the Just A Scrappin' design team.

Also, don't forget to stop by on Monday for the first day of our 12 Meows of Christmas.

Just A Scrappin' DT - Challenge # 27

Welcome back! Today is Thursday, so that means another super exciting project with the Just A Scrappin' DT.

Challenge: Create a card, layout or project using stripes. Also use autumn colors.

Size: A2

Supplies
Stampin' Up Stamp Set: Happy Blessings (R) (Scarecrow; Sentiment)
Cardstock: Core'dinations - Dark Brown, Ivory
Patterned Paper: DCWV
Dies: Spellbinders - Big Scallop Rectangle, Small
Stampin' Up Punches: 1 1/4 Circle; 1 3/8 Circle; Scallop Circle Punch
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa Ink
Ribbon: Details ($1 Tree)

This was a fun card to do, just using stamps and dies. As you know most of my cards involve my Cricut. Not very often I get back to stamping!

I was going to color in the image with my Copic markers, but really liked something in the simplicity of the image.

Make sure to stop by Just A Scrappin' to check out the other DT members projects and to post your newly created project.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate you taking a look and leaving a comment :)

"I'M SO THANKFUL" CTV STAMPS DT CHALLENGE #18

Hey all!! Happy Tuesday :) I hope everyone was able to get out and vote today! Everyone has an opinion, might as well make it count.

Today I made a project for a challenge over at Cardz TV.

Challenge: Create a card, layout or craft project for Thanksgiving!

Size: A2

Supplies
Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Cartridge
Cardstock: Core'dinations - Dark Brown, Orange, Yellow
Patterned Paper: DCWV Harvest Gathering Matstack
Sentiment: Cardz TV (Thankful for You); Ink: Stampin' Up: Early Espresso
Other: Details Ribbon

I am not sure of the measurements as I actually made this card using my Cricut, not my Gypsy. I believe I made this at 4.00.

I really liked this sentiment because it was different then just using the sentiment "Happy Thanksgiving". But, it still gets the same message across! It also fits well because this card will be going to a family member and I am VERY thankful for all of my family.

Thanks for dropping by to check out my creation! Stop back tomorrow to check out Create A Critter 2 Wednesday.

JAS DT - Blog Hop

Hello all! Some of my design team sisters from Just A Scrappin' decided to take part in a Blog Hop.

The team members that wanted to participate were paired up with another design team member and we switched boxes. You could put anything in the box, but the actual cost had to be under $15. You could only use what you received in the box, which was so much harder than it sounded!!!!

Here is what I got

Goodies in the box
K&Co Journal Tags - Brenda Walton - Olivia Rose Collection
Sew Scrapbook Hand Sewn Sticker Embellishments
8 X 8 Papers: 2 Textured (Tan, Rust); 3 Patterned; 3 Smooth (Lilac, Purple, Kraft)
8.5 X 11 Papers: Purple, Brown, Tan, Vanilla, Pink
Brights Mullberry Paper - 8.5 X 11
Rebecca Sower Handmade Sticker Collage
Other: 4 clothespins, 6 metal embellishments
Ribbon: 3/8" Brown, Peach, "Family"

Here is what I made

As you can see, I made four note cards and an 8.5 X 11 layout. It was really hard to not be able to use my go to supplies. I would have loved to have my Cricut or even my Cuttlebug for some dimension, but it is so good to have a challenge once and awhile :)

I will add some flowers to the front of the note cards now the challenge is over. It is so great to have little cards like this to send out in a pinch!

The scrapbook page I am going to mount onto 12 X 12 paper since that is what size my scrapbooks are. I may add a punch or something to the bottom of it. Everything looks so naked to me!

I really enjoyed doing this challenge and had a great time doing it. I was paired up with Annmarie and you can find her blog here .

Thanks for checking this out!

Just A Scrappin' DT - 3D Projects

Hey everybody! Thanks for stopping by. While the Just A Scrappin' DT is on a break, there were some members, including myself that volunteered to do a project this week.

The only requirement was for it to be a 3D project.

Supplies
Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Basic Grey, Basic Black, Concord Crush
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Spookalicious; Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Other: Purple Ribbon - Michael's; Red Stickles - Ranger
Adhesive: 3L Foam Squares; Scotch ATG; Red Sticky Tape - Various Sizes

I used three different cuts from the Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge.

(3DGrave) 11.70w X 10.21h (PG 101)
(Grave1) 3.68w X 5.15h (PG 60)
(Bat2) 3.51w X 1.00h (PG 53)
(Layer1) 3.52w X 1.00h (PG 53)

As usual I deleted all lines on all of the cuts. On the (Grave1) cut I simply trimmed the grass and the crow to layer on the (3DGrave) cut.

I did not use the (Bat2-s) cut since I used stickles for the red eyes.

Also, make sure you stamp your sentiment and tie your ribbon BEFORE you assemble your box -- it could get rather tricky if you don't!

Thanks for stopping by! Head on over to Just A Scrappin' to check out what some of my Design Team sisters have done.

Also, make sure to stop by on Saturday as some members of the Just A Scrappin' DT will be doing a special blog hop.

See you then :)

Taking time off

Hello all. I'm going to be taking a week off. This morning I lost my eldest cat. As you might be able to tell, my cats mean the world to me. I just need some time.

I will return to posting as soon as I've had some time and am ready. I do have a couple posts currently scheduled.

I thank you for your patience during this extremely tough time.

RIP Hambone.

"BUTTONS AND BOO'S" CTV DT CHALLENGE #16

Welcome back! I was checking out Cardz TV today and there is a challenge!!!

I have had this project percolating in my mind for the past week and it feels so good to get it out on paper.

Size: 12 X 12

Supplies
Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge (P 30 & 31)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Basic Grey, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Stampin' Up Ink: Tangerine Tango
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper
Martha Stewart Punches: Spiderweb border, Drippy Goo
Buttons: Basic Grey
Adhesive: Adhesive: 3L Foam Squares, Scotch ATG, Tomobow Mono Adhesive (Permanent), Zig 2-Way glue pen (Ball Point)

Gypsy Measurements
Frankenstein - All heights @ 6.0
(Frnknstn) Whisper White - 3.08w
(Frank-s) Basic Black - 3.08w
(Frank-Layer1) Basic Grey - 1.64w

(FrkBrd-s) Perfect Plum - 3.56w
(FrnkBrid-Layer1) Basic Black - 1.78w
(FrnkBrid-Layer1-s) Always Artichoke - 1.78w
(FrnkBrid-Layer2) Old Olive - 2.00w

"Happy Halloween" All height @ 3.0
(Frnknstn-Phrase)
Base: Tangerine Tango - 8.50w
Shadow: Cajun Craze - 8.65w

Layers
Photo Mat: Old Olive, Tangerine Tango - 4.5 X 6.5
Black Mat: Basic Black - 4.5 X 12
Stamp Mat: Cajun Craze - 1 11/16 X 1 1/8
Sentiment: Whisper White - 1 9/16 X 1 1/16

I hope you enjoy this page, I had a lot of fun making it! It was challenging with using the buttons as I don't usually use them. Ribbon is my go to embellishment, so this challenge was good since it took me out of my comfort zone. We all need to get out of that comfort zone once in awhile :)

I ended up using the button as a button on Frank's coat. I think it turned out super cute!

I also really love how it looks like they are both pointing to the picture.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time :)

Create A Critter 2 Wednesday

Welcome back to another "Critter Wednesday".

This week we are showcasing the "fangful" bat.

Size: A2

Supplies
Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Patterned Paper: Recollections Boo Who (Orange); K&CO Spooktacular
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Spookalicious
Stampin' Up Ink: Perfect Plum
Adhesive: Scotch ATG; Foam Squares (3L); Tombow Mono Adhesive (Permanent)
Other: Plum Ribbon (Michael's)

The bat was cut at 2.5".

Layers
5 3/8 X 4 1/8

The sentiment I simply stamped and trimmed around it. I "winged" it a little, just like my little bat!!!

When making this bat I advise that you do not cut the layer for the "fangs". In hindsight, I would not cut this layer, but simply trim or punch a piece of paper to put behind the space for the fangs.

I hope you thought this bat was "fangfully" adorable, I sure did!!!

Join us next week for a Christmas themed project from Create A Critter 2.

Adhesive: 3L Foam Squares, Scotch ATG, Tomobow Mono Adhesive (Permanent), Zig 2-Way glue pen (Ball Point)

Gypsy Measurements
Pumpkin - all @ 2.5h
Pumpkin: 2.32w (Delete all lines)

Layer-s: 1.17w

Spooky - all @ 3.0h
Spooky: 3.40w (Delete all lines)

Thanks for joining me today. Join me tomorrow for another Create A Critter 2 Wednesday! We're going to check out another spooky Halloween character.

The "Spooktacular" Farst

Welcome back for another project!

I was so excited about Create A Critter 2 coming out, I totally forgot about Bump in the Night Cricut Lite Cartridge. So, I pulled it out and picked the cutest monster I could find....let me introduce you to the Spooktacular Farst!!

Size: A2

Supplies
Bump in the Night Cricut Lite Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Concord Crush, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Patterned Paper: Recollections - Monsters & Robots
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Spookalicious
Adhesive: Scotch ATG, Foam Squares - 3L, Tombow Mono Adhesive - Permanent

Gypsy Measurements
Farst (Concord Crush) 3.78w X 4.25h
Farst-s (Perfect Plum) 3.20w X 4.25h
Farst Layer (Pear Pizzazz) 1.46w X 4.25h
Farst Layer-s (Whisper White) 1.37w X 4.25h

I would not recommend making this cut any smaller than 4 inches. I originally started out there, but could make it a little bigger and still have it fit on the card nicely. The pieces cut out nicely. With the Cricut if you do not make the cut big enough your cuts may look jagged or be very thin. If you have a cut you are doing and you are not getting the quality you want, check these things first:

1. Sharp blade
2. Sticky mat

If those are alright, then look at the image you are cutting. You may need to just make it a larger cut.

In the newer books, they will tell you on some images to cut at least 5 inches, for example.

Hope you have a spooktacular day!!!

MCT Designer Challenge

Hey all! As you all know, one of my favorite things about the Halloween season are the Googly Eyes....the bigger the better!!! So, when I was wandering my usual blogs, I found the challenge over at My Creative Time and decided I had to post a project!!

Supplies
Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge (P 76)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla
Adhesive: Red Tape, various sizes
Other: Googly Eyes

Pictures of box before assembly

I used red sticky tape to hold down the horns and arms

My red sticky tape placement for outside of box

Gypsy Measurements
All height is at 6.18
TrtBag2: 11.68w
Layer1: 7.93w
Layer1-S: 3.06w
Layer2: 1.81w (Delete all but teeth)

On my projects I make with Cricut that have score lines included, I always delete them. My paper always seems to get little tears or not score correctly. I now just score the project after it is done printing. The only lines I left for this project were the four lines where the horns and the arms came out. Otherwise, I deleted everything.

This monster was super fun to make. How can you look at this cute little monster with those big googly eyes and not smile?!?!

Hope you have a great day!

Snow Folks Seasonal Cricut Cartridge

Hello all! I just got this cartridge and wanted to share a project with you. I may be the crazy cat lady, but my next love is for snowmen! I may not like snow, which is difficult living in a "winter" state, but LOVE the snowmen.

Size: A2

Supplies
Snow Folks Digital Cricut Seasonal Cartridge (3rd image from the left)
Christmas Wish Cricut Imagine Cartridge (All patterned paper used)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette
Adhesive: Scotch ATG, Foam Squares - 3L, Tombow Mono Adhesive - Permanent
Other: Pink Ribbon - Michael's Celebrate It 360

Measurements
Row #1: 3.73w X 4.5h
Row #2: 2.53w X 4.5h
Row #3: 2.53w X 4.5h
Row #4: 1.32w X 4.5h
Row #5: 0.72w X 4.5h

After I got the card assembled, I realized I should have used soft suede (brown) paper for the arms! So silly! I didn't want to rip the card apart and waste all the other supplies.

For those that are eyeing the Imagine thinking they will never use it, here is one thing I really like about it. For projects like this one, you can simply "fill-in" the cut for the shirt and ear muffs with the pattern from the Imagine cartridge. It is so great to just put in a cartridge and print off the paper I need and fill my images. I really love the simplicity of it.

I hope you enjoyed this card. This is my first ever digital cartridge purchase. I'm not against them, but still like having the physical cartridge in my hot little hands. The price was too good to argue with. I paid $14.99 for it and the no shipping is a definite plus. I did search the web could not find a price even close to that.

Join me next week for some more fun projects!!

Just A Scrappin' - Challenge #23

Hey guys! Welcome back to another challenge with the Just A Scrappin' Design Team.

This week's challenge: Sympathy. Make a gate-fold card, using any colors and a punch.

Here is what I came up with:

Size: A2

Supplies
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stampin' Up Design Series Paper: Cottage Wall (Retired)
Stampin' Up Ink: Orchid Opulance (Retired)
Stampin' Up Punches: Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Sympathy

Directions
1. Start with a piece of cardstock cut at 5.5 X 8.5

2. Score cardstock at 2.125 and again at 6.375. Or, you can score at 2.125, rotate paper 180 degrees and score again at 2.125. You are splitting the 4.25 you usually have in an A2 card.

3. Cut paper layer at 2 X 5.375

*** .375= 3/8 .125= 1/8

I did not use a sentiment on the inside of the card at this time. I wanted to leave it blank to really personalize it at the time I need to use it. That is one of the main reasons I love making cards is that you really can add those little touches that really customize it for that person. Even, unfortunately, with sympathy cards.

I do have to apologize about using retired products. I really do try not to use a lot of retired supplies from Stampin' Up. I myself hate it when I see something I love and I can't get my hands on it!

When I was reading this weeks challenge, this is what popped in my head and I really wanted to create it.

So, head on over to Just A Scrappin' to check out other team members sympathy creations. Don't forget to create along with us and share your creation on the Just A Scrappin' blog.

Just wanted to let you all know, you can not yet link this cartridge to your Gypsy. I spoke with a Cricut representative today and she informed me it should be able to be linked with a new update for the Gypsy on the 20th or 21st of this month. You can link it through the Cricut Craft Room currently.

It really let me know how much I love my Gypsy! It was very weird to make a card the "old fashioned" way with the actual machine :)

I hope you enjoy this adorable little monster. Tune in next Wednesday for another project featuring Create A Critter 2.

Happy Crafting!

PS - Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for another set of projects from the Just A Scrappin' DT.

SO EXCITED!!!

Hey all! As you can tell I am SUPER excited!! They came out with a Create A Critter 2!! And I have it in my hot little hands! The original cartridge is one of my "go-to" cartridges for cards.

It is so super adorable. It basically expands on a lot of the critters from the original cartridge. I can not wait to start making them! So I have decided for the month of September, I am going to make Wednesday's "Create A Critter Day".

Hopefully it will help you see it is a cartridge you can not live without!!

Don't forget to tune in this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the first "Create A Critter Day" and Thursday we will be showing off creations from the Just A Scrappin' DT.

Happy Scrappin'!! You know I will be :)
