Just A Scrappin' Wedding Challenge

Welcome all! Thanks for joining me I wanted to share with you the awesome challenge that is happening at Just A Scrappin' for this week.

This week, our challenge was to make card, layout or project with the wedding theme.

For this week's challenge, here is mine:

Size: 6 X 6

Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge (PG 65)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Basic Grey, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Basic Black
Embossed Paper: DCWV Embossed Stack - Wedding Paper
Stampin' Up Ink: Bashful Blue
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Happiest Moments
Ribbon: Details Soft Pink
Adhesive: Scotch ATG, Tombow Mono Adhesive (Permanent)

Card Layers
Base: 6 X 6
Layer: 5.875 X 5.875

Gypsy Measurements
(CarCuple) 4.83w X 4.25h
Remainder: 5.71w X 4.25h (license plate, heads, bumper, car layer, the heart)

Extra Details:
As a total preference on my part, I really don't like the lines that are made in the cuts to line them up. So, I use my Gypsy to remove them. In some cuts I do have a leave a little of the line for guidance, but this cut, it was pretty easy to take them out and still get correct placement.

On the (CarCuple) Cut, I deleted everything but the "shell" and headlights. I then used the Layer feature button to obtain the cuts to fill in my "shell". I did at this point hide every feature except one on my cut so that I could space out my paper and make it more efficient.

I hope this all makes sense. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Come on over and check out all the great creations by my other team members and I really hope to see your entry at Just A Scrappin'!!!

Don't forget about the blog candy for lucky crafter that submits an entry!!

Cricut Lite - Crocs Rule

Welcome back! With all the rain we have been getting, I thought it would be fun to pull out Crocs Rule today.

Size A2 (5.5 X 4.25)

Crocs Rule Cricut Lite Cartridge
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, So Saffron
Stampin' Up Ink: Wild Wasabi, Basic Black Marker
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper, Biggie Punnies
Adhesive: Tombow Mono Adhesive (Permanent), Scotch ATG, Foam Squares (3L)
Cuttlebug Folder: Polka Dots
Spellbinders Dies: Labels Eight

Card Layers
Base: 8.5 X 4.25
Layer: 5.125 X 4.125 (Perfect Plum)
Layer: 1.125 X 4.125 (So Saffron)

Gypsy Measurements
Base (croc1) layer: 4.72w X 1.12h
Teeth (layer croc1) layer: 1.19w X 1.12h
Back (layer-s croc1) layer: 1.8w X 1.12h

On this project, I did not cut the croc1-s layer, the layer that has the holes for the eyes and the nose. I decided where the cut was not very large it would be better to simply use a black marker to "dot" those in.

Hope you enjoy!

Stop by tomorrow to see what cartridge I will be using.

Also, do not forget to stop by later in the week to see my first project for Just A Scrappin' DT.

DT blinkie

I am so super proud to add the DT blinkie to my page for Just A Scrappin' DT!!

It is so super cute!! Thanks go out to a fellow DT member for making it!

I will be having another post later on today as we do a week of Cricut Lite cartridges.

Cricut Lite - Recess

So today I thought I would make a project from one of the Cricut cartridges I recently got.

Stampin' Up Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Basic Black, Bashful Blue
Patterned Cardstock: Back to School by Recollections
Adhesive: Tombow Mono Adhesive (Permanent), Xyron Sticker Maker, ATG by Scotch, Pop Dots (3L)

Card Layers

I also wanted to give you a tip. I didn't cut the base layer for this cut, instead I used a square punch to punch out the blue to put in the windows. This way it saves a little paper for you and no one is the wiser :)

Thanks for joining me. Tune in tomorrow to see what cartridge we'll be using.

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Hey all! I got a question on my YouTube page and thought I would post it here in case anyone else had the same question.
"What settings do you use on Stampin' Up cardstock on Cricut? The fishing poles are delicate. I have a problem with Cricut tearing on fine cuts."

I always use a pressure setting of 5. The blade housing is set to 6. If it is going to be an intricate cut I always slow my speed down, for this cut I set speed to 3. That generally works for me. If I take all of those steps and it still tears, I make my cut bigger.

The other part that is really important is making sure you have a sharp enough blade. There is no set timeframe in my mind to change it. You have to judge based on what you cut, how often/much you cut and what the machine is showing you with your output.

If anyone has any questions or requests, please don't hesitate to ask.

Have a great Father's Day :)

Episode # 16 - Father's Day Cards

Here's the video for the Father's Day Cards I made earlier this evening.

Hope you enjoy!!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #115

Hey Everyone :)

So the challenge this past Monday was to post a Father's Day card related to outdoors. Lucky for me my step-father is obsessed with fishing, so it's a regular theme in his cards!

I made one for my father, featuring a car, which I wasn't sure was applicable, but one of the DT members used one in her card. I guess it would be an outdoors thing :)

Back In Action

So to say I've been missing would be somewhat of an understatement, but I am back!! Last year on May 7th I almost died. I had pneumonia and because of that suffered from severe dehydration, kidney failure and my muscles began feeding on themselves. I am healthy at this point, but if my mother had found me 20 minutes later I would not be here. My life has changed in so many positive ways. Out of something very scary came some very important and necessary changes. But enough with that! I will be starting with my blog, pictures and videos of one of my favorite things....crafting. For those who have been here before, you know I am big into my Cricut. I also love stamping and pretty much any papercraft I can get my hands on! So I invite you to come along for my journey.
