MCT Designer Challenge

Hey all! As you all know, one of my favorite things about the Halloween season are the Googly Eyes....the bigger the better!!! So, when I was wandering my usual blogs, I found the challenge over at My Creative Time and decided I had to post a project!!

Supplies
Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge (P 76)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla
Adhesive: Red Tape, various sizes
Other: Googly Eyes

Pictures of box before assembly

I used red sticky tape to hold down the horns and arms

My red sticky tape placement for outside of box

Gypsy Measurements
All height is at 6.18
TrtBag2: 11.68w
Layer1: 7.93w
Layer1-S: 3.06w
Layer2: 1.81w (Delete all but teeth)

On my projects I make with Cricut that have score lines included, I always delete them. My paper always seems to get little tears or not score correctly. I now just score the project after it is done printing. The only lines I left for this project were the four lines where the horns and the arms came out. Otherwise, I deleted everything.

This monster was super fun to make. How can you look at this cute little monster with those big googly eyes and not smile?!?!

Hope you have a great day!

Snow Folks Seasonal Cricut Cartridge

Hello all! I just got this cartridge and wanted to share a project with you. I may be the crazy cat lady, but my next love is for snowmen! I may not like snow, which is difficult living in a "winter" state, but LOVE the snowmen.

Size: A2

Supplies
Snow Folks Digital Cricut Seasonal Cartridge (3rd image from the left)
Christmas Wish Cricut Imagine Cartridge (All patterned paper used)
Gypsy by Cricut
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette
Adhesive: Scotch ATG, Foam Squares - 3L, Tombow Mono Adhesive - Permanent
Other: Pink Ribbon - Michael's Celebrate It 360

Measurements
Row #1: 3.73w X 4.5h
Row #2: 2.53w X 4.5h
Row #3: 2.53w X 4.5h
Row #4: 1.32w X 4.5h
Row #5: 0.72w X 4.5h

After I got the card assembled, I realized I should have used soft suede (brown) paper for the arms! So silly! I didn't want to rip the card apart and waste all the other supplies.

For those that are eyeing the Imagine thinking they will never use it, here is one thing I really like about it. For projects like this one, you can simply "fill-in" the cut for the shirt and ear muffs with the pattern from the Imagine cartridge. It is so great to just put in a cartridge and print off the paper I need and fill my images. I really love the simplicity of it.

I hope you enjoyed this card. This is my first ever digital cartridge purchase. I'm not against them, but still like having the physical cartridge in my hot little hands. The price was too good to argue with. I paid $14.99 for it and the no shipping is a definite plus. I did search the web could not find a price even close to that.

Join me next week for some more fun projects!!

Just A Scrappin' - Challenge #23

Hey guys! Welcome back to another challenge with the Just A Scrappin' Design Team.

This week's challenge: Sympathy. Make a gate-fold card, using any colors and a punch.

Here is what I came up with:

Size: A2

Supplies
Stampin' Up Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stampin' Up Design Series Paper: Cottage Wall (Retired)
Stampin' Up Ink: Orchid Opulance (Retired)
Stampin' Up Punches: Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Sentiment: My Pink Stamper - Sympathy

Directions
1. Start with a piece of cardstock cut at 5.5 X 8.5

2. Score cardstock at 2.125 and again at 6.375. Or, you can score at 2.125, rotate paper 180 degrees and score again at 2.125. You are splitting the 4.25 you usually have in an A2 card.

3. Cut paper layer at 2 X 5.375

*** .375= 3/8 .125= 1/8

I did not use a sentiment on the inside of the card at this time. I wanted to leave it blank to really personalize it at the time I need to use it. That is one of the main reasons I love making cards is that you really can add those little touches that really customize it for that person. Even, unfortunately, with sympathy cards.

I do have to apologize about using retired products. I really do try not to use a lot of retired supplies from Stampin' Up. I myself hate it when I see something I love and I can't get my hands on it!

When I was reading this weeks challenge, this is what popped in my head and I really wanted to create it.

So, head on over to Just A Scrappin' to check out other team members sympathy creations. Don't forget to create along with us and share your creation on the Just A Scrappin' blog.

Just wanted to let you all know, you can not yet link this cartridge to your Gypsy. I spoke with a Cricut representative today and she informed me it should be able to be linked with a new update for the Gypsy on the 20th or 21st of this month. You can link it through the Cricut Craft Room currently.

It really let me know how much I love my Gypsy! It was very weird to make a card the "old fashioned" way with the actual machine :)

I hope you enjoy this adorable little monster. Tune in next Wednesday for another project featuring Create A Critter 2.

Happy Crafting!

PS - Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for another set of projects from the Just A Scrappin' DT.

SO EXCITED!!!

Hey all! As you can tell I am SUPER excited!! They came out with a Create A Critter 2!! And I have it in my hot little hands! The original cartridge is one of my "go-to" cartridges for cards.

It is so super adorable. It basically expands on a lot of the critters from the original cartridge. I can not wait to start making them! So I have decided for the month of September, I am going to make Wednesday's "Create A Critter Day".

Hopefully it will help you see it is a cartridge you can not live without!!

Don't forget to tune in this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the first "Create A Critter Day" and Thursday we will be showing off creations from the Just A Scrappin' DT.

Happy Scrappin'!! You know I will be :)
